Make "N" Break - mini wing #1 - 1 kit

Kids love to make things, and they LOVE to break things even more!
These mini wing kits are designed to give kids (young and old) a short hands on educational activity, with endless follow on learning points.  They should take the average kid 10 to 15 minutes to put together, with only a flat surface, some masking tape to hold things down and glue of your choice (and a little sandpaper if desired).
Once the glue has dried, they can weigh the wing, mount them in the fixture (available seperately) and apply loads at various places and measure the bending & tortional stiffness.   Plot a load deflection curve, try it with the wing upside down and right side up, there is a BIG difference, why?  The winc could be covered with paper, and and the lift measured if the school has a small wind tunnel.  Or simply load them to failure and record the data.  If the group is large enough, then they could do some statistics on the results!  A physics, math, science or design teacher could make many lessons out of this activity, with multiple learning points, and best of all, it's fun for the kids.

Be aware though, experience has shown that the kids like to take ther creation home so you may need to have a few extras on hand!
